MCAMW Settles into New Office Space

MCAMW New Office SpaceIt might be hard for some people to move out of an office space after 20-plus years, but not for Jeanne Lee and her staff at the Mechanical Contractors Association of Metro Washington. Lee said it’s all about planning and preparation.

“It’s been a two-year process,” explained Lee, MCAMW Executive Vice President. “We’d been in our old office for two decades, so once the board recognized our need for a bigger space, we began planning the move. We’re excited to finally make the transition.”

The new office space at 4601 Presidents Drive, Suite 140, is just a just a short walk away and has double the space of the old location. The new conference room features a Smart TV for telecommunications and a sturdy table that can seat up to 20 people.

“The decor reflects the image of the industry we represent: industrial, modern and chic,” said Lee.

Although most of the boxes are unpacked and desks and telephones are set up for business, the office is far from settled as the staff awaits the arrival of new furniture. Lee anticipates hosting a “show and tell” Open House in late summer, when the membership will be invited to check out the new digs.

The phone number (301-731-0330), website and email addresses remain the same. The new address:

4601 Presidents Drive, Suite 140
Lanham, MD 20706

Congratulations to Gary Grandchamp

Gary GrandchampAs President of MCA of Metro Washington, I am especially pleased and proud to announce that one of our own, Gary Grandchamp, of Kirlin Mid-Atlantic has been elected to serve on the 2014 MCAA Board of Directors. We are confident that Gary will bring the same exceptional caliber of leadership to the MCAA board that he has extolled through his impressive career with Kirlin Mid-Atlantic. The Kirlin Group’s standard of excellence, under Gary’s leadership has been a role model for our local industry for the past five decades. The MCAMW represents one of the largest mechanical contractors associations in the country, whose logged man hours for the past several years has exceeded 8 million. We know that he will bring those same high standards of excellence to his position nationally and we congratulate him!

Gary Grandchamp started his construction career more than thirty years ago and has been with Kirlin since 1980. He started as an Assistant Project Manager and has steadily advanced through the organization until being named president of Kirlin Mid-Atlantic, LLC in 2007.

Message from Jeanne C. Lee, Executive Vice President

Jeanne C. Lee, Executive Vice President MCAMWI’m Jeanne Lee .. welcome to our new MCAMW website!

Over the past several months, we’ve worked hard to put together a new website that serves our members as we enter into our 125th year as the Mechanical Contractors Association of Metropolitan Washington.

You spoke and we listened. You asked for a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate, up-to-date, well-maintained central location where you can easily access all you need to make calls, register for training classes, confirm meetings or get caught up on the latest issues in Annapolis, DC and Richmond.

We’ve created a one-stop-shop to provide you with information about meetings, training and the marketplace. We’ve added a news report section to keep you abreast of the latest trends, there’s an updated calendar, membership lists, information on the 125th anniversary celebration, even a weather bug and the latest RSS feed from the Washington Business Journal. Plus, we’ve provided your favorite social media links to valuable resources like the national membership, associations and to other members in the MCAMW.

. . . all at your fingertips.

In addition to the business at hand, we have also included a blog posting where you’ll hear information right from the President of the MCAMW on information that could affect your day to day business on a regular basis.
We’re so glad you’re here, we hope you add this to your favorites or keep as your internet’s home page and visit on a regular basis.

We welcome your comments and suggestions as well. Please feel free to let us know if you would like to add a segment, make changes or send a shout out on something that you like. We’d love to hear from you.
