In October of 2009, The Kirlin Group was awarded the plumbing and mechanical subcontract for the Construction of the new US Coast Guard Headquarters. This project was a design build and represents the first phase of the Department of Homeland Security’s consolidation and relocation to southeast, Washington D.C. It features a new 11 story office building with over 1.2 million square feet of office space. The project also included a new central utility plant (CUP) and two-7 story parking garages. The project was completed on schedule and turned over to the GSA May 2013. The project achieved LEED Gold Certification.
